Hey guys. So it's been a while (since I've posted or replied to people here), and I thought I'd explain why it's been that way.

I've been very active on Twitter and Tapastic these days. I was really nervous about getting on Twitter at first, but the fast pace of that site has led me to working harder in staying active and delivering content on time. I'm very proud to say that it's helped me be more confident in posting. I want to be a reliable artist on the internet. I think the slow pace of other sites gives me too much time to doubt, which slows down my art flow quite a bit. Oh insecurities, you rascal!

Anyway, I've been working hard on refining my presence on the internet. I didn't want to come back to Deviant art until I had a better idea of how that presence works. I've made a lot of accounts since the webcomic launched, and it's been very hard to manage them all ^^; I still have some rebooting to do here and there, it's a tough process to do between school and webcomics.

So! I do have stuff to post and share. I'll try to have something up by the end of the week. I know dA has been rather quiet in recent times, but I don't want to leave my friends hangin' XD

Late to the party, but hey why not!
Thanks so much for some folks who named me as someone they'd like to meet in person/ fav deviant ;__; you guys rock!

1. How long have you been on DeviantArt?
6 years! Man, I've had this account since high school! Haha, haha heheh *nervous laughter*

2. What does your username mean?
It's the both of us! Jessica and Jacinta. I guess if you watch Steven Universe, it's our fusion name heheh :P

3. Describe yourself in three words.
Sarcastic nerdy hat

4. Are you left or right handed?
Both of us are right handed!

5. What was your first deviation?
Oh man it was fanart of a book I liked. I think I've outgrown both the drawing and the book XP

6. What is your favourite type of art to create?
Comics!! They take a lot of energy and time but comics are just the most rewarding to me.

7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
I guess any style that's messy and spontaneous. I feel like my style currently relies heavily on clean inks and flat colors (not a bad thing!). I've been meaning to get out of that comfort zone! If only I could handle traditional media!

8. What was your first favourite?
Avatar the Last Airbender fanart by :iconblue-ten:! Which makes sense, because I found his comic through his Avatar fanart, and that made me want to make comics of my own!

9. What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?
I usually fav artist's original work (stuff with their OCs, illustrations of their story, original comic etc) , because I really like supporting personal projects :D

10. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?
Blarg! Don't make me choose! Here are some cool artists I look up to:
:iconblue-ten::iconpretty-angel::icon47ness::iconkarrey::iconizmoroz::iconrealnoir13::iconaudreymolinatti::icon0tacoon::iconcloudykasumi:

11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?
Ooh I've met :iconcarthegian: in person (great background art that guy!!)
If I could meet more, I'd totally meet all the folks in #10 and :iconchuwenjie: :iconmaripazvillar::iconsitas-the-fool::iconrosy-gingerpear::iconmorgiee:
Hoping to meet :icon47ness: and :iconspiffychicken: this year if all goes according to plan <3
Hopefully I'll be meeting :icon0tacoon: and :iconcloudykasumi: for Winter quarter ;__;

12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?
A handful of you wonderful guys have been here since humble beginnings being supportive, encouraging, and offering critique. My art wouldn't be the way it is now without that. I can never say thank you enough. So I'll start now! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU (...x eternity)
A shout-out to :iconcymayuan: (and Angela!) for the great experience in the Disney Competition, along with :iconrocketshoes: for supervising us and for being a rockin' awesome teacher in general. Why you support me and my crazy ideas is beyond me but I'm endlessly thankful!

13. What are your preferred tools to create art?

Photoshop and Kyle's brooshes :Y
I can only dream of the day I can be graceful with traditional art weheh

14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
Home, doors locked, curtains drawn, my obnoxious music playing, and being cut off from humanity! Ahahah well that's when making art, but the "inspirational" stuff behind it is when I brave the outdoors and go on adventures :B and that's anywhere!

15. What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?
Honestly, I still look fondly back to the days of Detective Mimi :)
I usually do one-shot comics during the winter break, and Detective Mimi is still my favorite and most ambitious XD Sure the art is outdated and rushed -plus the story is kinda funky-, but I had a blast drawing it. It was fun adding character cameos and making ridiculous funny scenarios for my characters. I really hope everyone enjoyed reading it as I did making it!

It's a shame I couldn't re-create that memory this year, but there's Tales from the Well that happened this year at least (the support for Tales really surpassed my expectations!) :]

Phew!  Fun questions :D I know I'm not as active as I could be when it comes to DA (I always feel like I need to post something 'big' enough for this place!) but this site's still got great memories attached to it. Here's to the future! :ahoy:

Let's update that dusty journal! Lots has happened since then!

1. Tales from the Well
It's webcomic tiiime! Read Tales from the Well here! Catch up on news and updates about it here! It's a children's illustration-meets-comics webcomic that tells the story of a Prince who falls into a well and goes on fantastical adventures with two rambunctious sisters. I've launched my webcomic the past week ago on other social media, and it's crazy how supportive people are to a newbie like me. Thanks so much for just showing interest in this comic, I can't wait to give it my all! :D

2. Daily Doodles on Twitter
I'm still doing this! That's right, I haven't given up yet :P I've also got some awesome friends who joined in on doing daily doodles too, and I'll be re-tweeting the heck out of them! So if you want to see some quick new art, it's all there.

3. The anthology project, "Underground" is in print!
Guess who finally has their art in a book? This nerd! Check it out. I contributed a 5-page story about a superhero on an identity crisis :B I hope you like it! The digital version is still in the process of getting itself up on Comixology. When that happens, I'll be sure to let you know!

4. I'm on other Social Media!
Trying to get savvy with other social media! You can find my art up on:
-Tumblr (for more doodly-art)
-Twitter (for daily doodles and news on things)
-Facebook (for comic updates and general art, also say hi, I don't bite!)
-Instagram (for in process stuff and dopey pictures of my monitor, haha)

5. CTNX is coming
Aaaah I get so nervous and excited for this event! I have so much to prepare for, but really I'm just excited to meet all the fabulous artists that are going to be there! I'm going to be traveling with a posse of super talented people, meeting yet more talented people, and my brain is going to explode over how amazing that is!

Cheers, guys! I hope things are going well for you this Summer!

A Comic Update

3 min read
Hey guys, how are you doing?
I thought I'd make a quick update on the state of my comic-making this year. A couple of things I feel like I should address:

1. The Christmas Comic
I couldn't get this comic going. I made this year's comic during a stressful time (I was in the Disney Competition) and wasn't feeling great as I was making it. It showed (tonally) in the comic too, and I don't feel comfortable sharing a comic I wasn't happy working on. I still made a ton of work though, and some of it I'm really sad to let go of (the entire comic has been sketched out in fact), but I feel it's best to leave it behind. I may revisit the storyline with a different tone another time, but for now there's no Christmas comic this year (last year?).

2. Daily doodles on Twitter
I'm challenging myself to post a drawing everyday on my Twitter if you're interested :) I'll be posting some of my favorite panels from the unfinished Christmas comic there too.

3. I'm in an Anthology project!
An anthology project that'll be published and hopefully available online as well! The anthology will have comics and illustrations from my very talented peers. I did a 5-page short story comic in there that I worked sooo hard on (and that I've teased a bit about on my Tumblr and Twitter). I've sent my submission and as far as I know, it's still in the judging process. From what I hear though, all the submissions did really well. So hopefully you guys will have a really awesome book to read in your hands!

4. A Webcomic??
So I'm in a Webcomic class at school and by the end of that class we'll be posting the fruits of our labor to the internets. I made a new very interesting project for that class I know some of you guys who found me on Facebook had sneak peeks of the project already and I am WAY too excited to show you guys what we made. More on that later!

5. I'm heading to CTNX this year!
That's right you heard me! I still got some travel stuff to work out, but I am going (along with a bunch of my super talented friends)! I know some of you guys are going, and I hope to meet you there!

In general, thank you for being patient with me and my undulating art farts and my late replies (art school is tough!). We're very lucky to have such an understanding and responsive readership, it makes us excited to share more with you :D
Cheers,
JesnCin.

Hey guys! I hope you're all are enjoying yourselves this holiday season.
I'd also like to say hi to the new watchers who have hopped aboard!
Because I'm lazy with writing journals, I feel the need to reintroduce myself with each one. Since each journal is like, months apart :B

Howdy! You can call me JesnCin. I like drawing wacky Victorians and comics about wacky Victorians.
I know I don't post artsies that much, but that's something I'm trying to work on as the years get busier. So I hope you guys will be patient with me :aww:

It's been a ridiculous year for me. So much has happened! I've gained so much experience and met so many interesting people on the way. That said, it's also been the busiest year so far hurr hur yikes.

If you've been around my art for some time, you'd know that I post a special ~Christmas Comic~ every year. So if you're wondering, yes I will be posting another Christmas comic this year :D This year's comic is going to be pretty late though. I've had a lot of work (Disney related!) that had taken up my usual Christmas comic working time, but now that's it's done I have a bit more time to work on it (in between spending the holidays with the family of course!). So you have that to look forward to because I know you guys looove comics.

Riiiiight??

The comic's looking great! So be excited! I'm looking forward to the next year.

Anyway enough about me! How's you guys? What are your plans for the new year? And how was this year for you? :)
